The 2nd Illustration Biennial Met Art Enthusiasts

The 2nd International Illustration Biennial of Balıkesir University, organized by the Department of Graphic Arts, met art enthusiasts with its opening ceremony.

The opening at the GSF Stone Gallery Exhibition Hall was attended by Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Biruni University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Solak, BAÜN Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Selvihan Kılıç Ateş, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Zafer Aslan, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Sibel Ergün, General Secretary Yemliha Yanar, academic and administrative staff, and students.

The program began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Serdar Yılmaz, Head of the Department of Graphic Arts, who provided information to the participants about the biennial and the works on display. The biennial was then toured together with Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Selvihan Kılıç Ateş, Department Head Prof. Dr. Serdar Yılmaz, and the artists.

Congratulations from Rector Oğurlu

Visiting the biennial, Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu congratulated the participating artists and everyone who contributed to the organization, highlighting the event as an occasion that once again promoted the university’s name internationally.

The 2nd International Illustration Biennial brings together 116 original works by artists from Turkey and 18 other countries. The event will be open to visitors until December 31.
