Our student, Yüsra Nejan Sandıkcı, won first place in the "Mystery of the Shelves: Book Finding Competition," held as part of the 62nd Library Competition organized by our university on April 3, 2026. We congratulate our student and wish her continued success.

The 62nd anniversary of Library Week, traditionally celebrated in our country, was also celebrated with various events organized by the Balıkesir University Library and Documentation Department under the theme of "The Healing Library." The events, aimed at emphasizing the healing power of knowledge and the unifying role of libraries in society, and promoting a reading culture, concluded with an awards ceremony held in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Central Library 15 July Martyrs Conference Hall.

Students who won prizes in the following events held throughout the week – “Share Your Idea, Win a Prize (Survey Raffle)”, “Follow, Tag, Like and Win (Social Media Raffle)”, “Bookworm (Most Book Borrowed)”, “Digital Explorers (E-Resource Finding Competition)”, “Our Library Through Your Eyes (Photography Competition)”, and “The Mystery of the Shelves (Book Finding Competition)” – received their awards at a ceremony.

The awards were presented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, General Secretary Yemliha Yanar, Head of Library and Documentation Department Hasan Yetişir, and library staff members Lecturer Süleyman Erdoğmuş, Librarian Gülcan Küçükgüreşgen, and Cemal Sarıdoğar.
